Day 1 : Leh Arrival
Pick up from Leh Airport and transfer to hotel. Check in
Hotel, and complete rest of the Day to avoid high altitude
sickness. Even walking up the stairs of the hotel will make
you breathless for the first Day. Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 2 : Leh Sightseeing - Magnetic Hill & Pathar Sahib
Gurudwara
After breakfast, visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Magnetic
Hill which defy the law of gravity. When a vehicle is parked
in neutral gear on the road of this hill, it starts sliding
up. See the confluence of Zanskar and Indus river on the
way. In the afternoon, back to Leh and visit Shanti Stupa,
Hall of Fame and other famous local destinations. Visit Leh
market in the evening. Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 03 : Leh - Nubra- ( DISKIT & HUNDER) 130 KMS, 5 HOURS
After early breakfast at the hotel departure for Nubra
Valley with lunch box along. Stop en route and visit Disket
and Hundar monastery. The valley is on the trade route from
leh to Khangar via Samsar and Karakoram passes. Apart from
unparraled trekking opportunities, the valley has several
Buddhist Gompas. Visit Diskit Gompa which is 350 years old.
Overnight stay in Camp.
Day 04 : Nubra Valley
After breakfast visit Panamik village. The incredible thing
about the village is the superb irrigation system built over
decades, Return to the camp for Lunch. In the Afternoon
visit Samtaling monastery in Sumur village. This monastery
belongs to the Gelukpa sect of Buddhism, the Dalai Lama's
branch. In the evening come back to camp for dinner and
overnight stay.
Day 05 : Nubra _Khardong La - Leh (130 KM, 5 HOURS)
After breakfast at the camp, drive to Leh with lunch box
along. En route stop at Khardungla Pass ( 5359 m ) - world's
highest motorable pass. Khardong La is historically
important as it lies on the major caravan route from Leh to
Kashgar in Chinese Central Asia. About 10,000 horses and
camels used to take the route annually. Continue drive to
Leh. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Rest of the Day is
free for shopping and independent activities. Dinner and
overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06 : Leh - Pangong Lake (5 - 6 Hrs)
ToDay after breakfast, check out from the Hotel & drive to
Pangong Lake, east to the Leh after crossing Chang-la (Pass)
(17500ft) and driving via Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the
Changthang region of Ladakh and perhaps one of the most
amazing lakes in Asia which changes its color 4 - 5 times a
Day. At evening enjoy the breathtaking view of Pangong Lake.
Overnight at the Camp at Pangong Lake.
Day 07 : Pangong Lake - Leh
ToDay after breakfast, check out from the Camp & drive
back to Leh visit Thiksay, Shey, Stok, Hemis monasteries.
Evening free for leisure & own activities. Overnight at the
Hotel.
Day 08 : Leh - Lamayuru
After breakfast on day 9, begin driving to Lamayuru. On the
way, halt to visit the confluence of the rivers Indus and
Zanskar, Alchi Monastery- a well-known ancient Buddhist
monastery that is one of the best preserved ancient Gompas
as well and the ruins of the 15th century Basgo Castle.
After arriving in Lamayuru, complete the check-in
formalities at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 09: Lamayuru - Kargil
In the morning, visit the lunar landscapes and the Lamayuru
monastery- also known as Yuru Gompa, an ancient Tibetan
Buddhist Monastery that is home to around 150 monks.
Afterwards, proceed to Kargil. En-route visit the well-known
monolithic rock -cut statue of Maitreya Buddha in Mulbekh
village. This 8 m high statue dates back to 1st century B C.
On arriving in Kargil by evening, check-in your hotel for
staying overnight.
Day 10 : Kargil - Srinagar
Today is the last day of the tour. After an early morning
breakfast, begin driving to Srinagar. En-route, visit Drass-
known as the second coldest place on earth, often called
'the Gateway to Ladakh'. Drive past Zojila pass and Sonamarg.
After arriving in Srinagar, and Overnight in Hotel.
Day 11: Airport Departure
After Breakfast Check out hotel and drop to the Srinagar
Airport. |
